How this site works and how it is paid
Last updated .
apartmentmoverschicago.com is an independent lead-generation publisher. It is not a moving company, a broker of moving services or a storage company. Nobody who works on this site moves, packs, stores or insures anyone's belongings.
What happens when you request quotes
- Your request (origin ZIP, destination, date, home size, building details, contact details and anything you wrote) is sent to one or more movers who serve your area. For a move inside Illinois, the mover must hold Illinois Commerce Commission household goods authority; for a move to another state, active FMCSA authority under a USDOT number. We check that before a mover receives requests, and we record the date of the check.
- Those movers pay us for the introduction. The fee does not change your price; the estimate and the contract are between you and the mover.
- Movers may call, text or email you. Illinois requires the consent of every party to record a call, so no call we route is recorded without an announcement at the start.
- We do not perform, supervise or insure any move. Estimates, valuation coverage, claims and complaints are with the mover and its regulator.
What we do not do
- We do not publish reviews, ratings or testimonials we have not verified, and at present we publish none.
- We do not rank movers by how much they pay us.
- We do not sell your details to anyone other than the mover or movers matched to your request.
- We do not state a price of our own. Every price on the site is a published figure from a named source with the date we read it.
If a partner behaves badly
Tell us at hello@apartmentmoverschicago.com with the mover's name and what happened. A mover who holds goods hostage, misstates a license or changes the price on moving day is removed. You can also complain to the Illinois Commerce Commission for a move within Illinois, or to FMCSA for an interstate move.
Common questions about how we are paid
Do I pay anything for a quote?
No. Renters and owners never pay us. Movers pay for the introduction, and that fee does not change the estimate they give you.
Will my details be sold to other companies?
No. They go to the licensed mover or movers matched to your ZIP and date, and to the form provider that carries them. Nothing goes to data brokers.
Who is responsible if something is damaged?
The mover. They hold the license, the contract and the valuation coverage you chose. We are a publisher and are not a party to the move. See our editorial policy for how we source what we publish.
